“Too Close” and “What I Learned From Icarus”

Dear All,

April brings double blessings featuring 2 companion paintings. The first one is our Mythological Greek friend Icarus who, out of an abundance of longing, flew too close to the Sun, which melted his wax wings, and he fell back to Earth!  Alas — that’s what our idealism and passion can do to us if we’re not properly grounded.

Meet our second friend: she doesn’t have a name, and was painted 10 years after Icarus. Isn’t it funny how the Painted Ones learn from the Artist’s passage through Time? This Nameless One tells us a whole different story. She still has her longing to soar, but, thankfully learning from her friend Icarus (seen in the background) — keeps her distance from the Sun, and stays closer to Earth. She holds to her Vision and Dream, without being consumed by it, and is more practical, grounded, and has much better Self-Care!
